- Trust your judgment over others.
We have been taught for so long to value other people judgments over our own. Our words and our actions are often to the beat of someone else’s tunes. It is time you stop doing that and realize your success lies in your own rhythm of choice.
- Own up to your weaknesses but focus on your strengths.
Owning up to your weaknesses give you the space you need to play with your limitations and buff up on them. While focusing on your strengths bolsters your spirit to keep you moving forward along your path despite your weaknesses.
- Decide to be more Self-Confident.

Confidence comes from knowing and believing. The more you know about you the more your confidence grows. The more you believe in you…the less power you give to the voices that criticize you or attempt to make you into an image of themselves. The more you know about any dream you are pursuing in your life…the more successful it will be…so learn everything there is to learn on the fly as you go for it.
- Develop the Fear of Procrastination.
Spend your time making things happen instead of worrying about what might or might not happen. There are three kinds of people: Those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who wonder what happened.
The rules of society train us into the habit of measuring our success by comparing our lives with others. Stop imagining what you would do if things were different. You are what you are…a unique. The success of any two people is never identical. When you choose to define your own success and orient your life around that, then you will not only feel successful…you will be.
- Decide to be just GREAT.
As simple as this may sound this is a very powerful decision to make. Most of us struggle with “the what we have to be…going to be syndrome” for most of our waking lives. Some of us even stay in a position or job that we hate just for the prestigious title that tells us and others that we are something. The reality is all that superficial horn blowing doesn’t get you closer to the goal of true bliss in your life but much farther away. Kick the struggle and decide to be just GREAT, and watch everything else in your life automatically gravitate to that greatness. Before you know it, whatever you will be happy doing will find you…because you have invited your greatness to take its rightful place in your life.
- Risk Everything.
Grant yourself the permission to move outside your comfort zone and start doing things you have never done before, to get

results you have never had before…but you have always wanted. You can’t open yourself to experiencing new things if you are not willing to risk losing something else. It’s an opportunity cost but you have the power to choose the freedom that comes with risk.
- Become a shrewd Success General.
Many people will come to join your team due to the high energy you are transmitting at this top level, most will not be suitable, and others that have come will be caught up in their own stuff. To operate at your full potential as a general in your success…it is wise to accept the help of others and get the most out of them, given the current circumstances, your goals and the limits of your life budget. As you command your success, remember to apply grace and gratitude…because being thankful, with your own unique style will empower you and your team more.
It is crucial that you select the right team or design the right environment that supports you and eliminate the others that don’t suit your purpose. We often think that the set of people we have in our lives are the only people there is. Hence you struggle to cramp your life to accommodate them even when they begin to feel like an evident burden. Don’t be afraid to let people go if they are not right for you and the journey you are on. Quite often that is the only way you can make space for the people that are suitable for your life. You will only succeed with you…when you start designing your environment to support you, instead of you supporting your environment.
- Boycott Struggle. Period.
There is no Aha in struggle…neither is their any honor. It is only a drain on your brain that leaves you in a strain; and before you know it you are looking for a doctor to release your pain. I gave you this little rhyme for you to laugh 🙂 at struggle and realize how silly it is…but how toxic it can be to your health and life success. Many times we get caught up in struggle and as a result do not live our lives to the fullest. We are afraid to move beyond the fight even when we have matured past it, so we are just surviving instead of flourishing and growing. Struggle is what the downtrodden use to medicate themselves…your Power Zone doesn’t need that contamination. Transcend the struggle and you eliminate your vulnerability to be exploited. You are then free to succeed and thrive as you please.
- Celebrate Yourself.

Celebrate the greatness in you, so you can celebrate and encourage the greatness in others.
This may be difficult to accept, even harder to do. As we have grown up believing that it is best to put people above ourselves, celebrate the great in them and disregard the great in us. Start operating in the self-celebration mode or the YOU COME FIRST, SECOND & THIRD movement. This may sound selfish, but if you can’t honor the greatness in you, how can you truthfully honor the greatness in others? To be successful is not an enigma. Success is just Success when you Say YES to it…Yes to You. The only limitation preventing you from succeeding is the one you put on yourself. Catapult yourself to higher ground by joining the YCFST movement and stop being in awe of success and make success become you.

Everyone has their own definition of success or what they consider success to be for them (none more important than the other except to the individual). Some examples, I have gotten from family and colleagues are like: job security or having a family, creating a kitchen garden at home, spending time with the grand kids, being able to travel without worrying about expenses, finding a cure for cancer, having a successful business, being healthy and so on.
What does success mean to you? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below…so we can discuss further.
