Welcome to the official opening of The Sky Lounge @ SunPlum.com featuring House DJ, Kaylaa aka Inspired Beacon, Guest DJs and Visiting Guests 🙂
The Sky Lounge is a great place to come hangout, be inspired and meet and greet.
This lounge also provides another window into my mind, I would like to share with you and invite you to come inside…to share as well.Though I am originally from Jamaica, in addition to reggae music 🙂 , I have an eclectic taste in music and inspiration…that comes from several places and genres and even from times long before I was born. So I thought I would share it with you, kind of like my musical musings diary.To allow for listening fun, upliftment and inspiration, I bring you soulful rhythms, heart renderings and more food for thoughts.
Where you can listen to sounds of music, whether in the form of songs, skits, talks that inspire me, heals me, floors me or touch some place deep without explanation or translation.
Hopefully it will touch you too as much as my writings and poems does and make you feel the freedom to listen as it transport you to deep contemplation or inspire you to move, build or break loose something, change, try, play, dance, love, browse, cry, laugh, express and engage. As well as, move you to share your own musical or video musings with me and with others that come to hang out at The Sky Lounge and share their blogs and writing 🙂 .
Rules of Engagement :). You have 4 options that you can do at will to participate, mix and mingle 🙂
- If you want to share your blog or post that has nothing to do with music, but you believe it’s worth exploring at The Sky Lounge. Please share it while commenting on one of the musical or video blogs added to The Sky Lounge. Or just commenting in general to share your thoughts.
- If you want to share music or a motivational talk or video at The Sky Lounge, just insert or add the link to the video in the comments section below.
- If you want to share music from your own blog to participate. You can just add the video link to your post, give The Sky Lounge a mention and link back to this page. This way I know you have a video or something to share here and I will include it in the lounge and link back to your blog too.
- Feel free to re-blog The Sky Lounge and invite your friends and peeps here. As well as, add a link with any of the options above to the re-blog pertaining to any of number 1-3 above.
Bonus 🙂 : I have a lot of influence on Twitter and my influence is growing on other social media sites, so if you get featured in The Sky Lounge or become a regular here, I will also share your blog and blog posts on Twitter and LinkedIn several times a month, so my followers will retweet or share your posts, as well as, visit your site.

Wow this one from Jewel is really deep 🙂 …thanks for sharing. Just the kind of beautiful meaning, sound and voice that is the best for our easy listening and inspiration here. She may definitely become one of my new favs :). This one will surely get you featured in The Sky Lounge again, so keep these wonderful sounds coming.
Also, I have been thinking that for the patrons that get featured in The Sky Lounge. In addition to sharing their posts throughout the week. I would also share a music addition from them in one of The Sky Lounge posts, if they provided one that was share-worthy. For example, the one you shared. However, in the same post I would mention the contributor and also include a link to their blog too…so readers can check them out from there as well.
Let me know if you think that is a good idea or not? As I am just working this out in my mind and would value your feedback…since the lounge just opened 🙂
I think that’s a great idea. This way, your readers can learn about the bloggers and their blogs in addition to experiencing the wonderful music.

Yes, this is the place “The Sky Lounge Entrance” :). I will add a sign next time, as I don’t want anyone else to drive past it…because if they do they will miss the great parking area. And the other parking down the street sucks…LOL 🙂

Yes, sure you can post from the same artist. I am not sure what happened with your first post…but since the admissions attendant is new here.
She may have dropped the ball on this one. But she promises to do better once she learns the ropes and I totally understand where she is coming from…because I am learning too.

Gosh 🙂 we didn’t have any cheese yet, but I will personally go down to a specialty Farmers Market if I have to. What about wine, do you drink a special kind of wine with this cheese? I ask because I don’t know much about wines, but do know enough to know, I don’t want to bring the wrong drink over that does not go well with your cheese 🙂 .
No, I’m not a wine drinker or any alcohol for that matter. I’ve just never been interested.
Well that is cool we have that in common. I will bring over nice mixed drinks then, that is non-alcoholic that I believe you will enjoy. Plus is will work well with your coby jack cheese 🙂 .

I just learned to make one and I got the Colby Jack cheese too from the Farmers Market . So its coming right up any minute now 🙂
A waitress made me one at IHOP once. It was SO good! It was the first time I had one made and not just bought from the store.

I actually have an idea. I don’t know if this is what you meant by what you said earlier, but is it possible for you to put all your videos and the ones submitted by your readers under “From the Sky Lounge” so that not only can they be found under your comments, but they can be found all under one place?
I think this a great song for anyone who struggles with mental health issues or challenges in general. It speaks about how eventually, with hard work, we’ll reach our goals. It also illustrates that in order to receive help, we must also try to help ourselves!

Yes, is there a way to incorporate the songs and videos that your readers contribute as well to the sky lounge playlist? I only see yours in this section. If it’s too difficult, it’s really no big deal.
Well yes…I was thinking to set up an area for that too. I am working out the logistics and will set it up soon, so that when I feature readers/patrons contribution, they will have a place in The Sky Lounge to show case their contribution and link to their blog

Hi Kaylaa! I was just wondering if you’d like me to continue posting videos on this page or on the page where my videos are. Also, I’m sorry if I’ve posted too many. Please let me know.
No its actually great that you have many :). However, I have an idea, that I think might help streamline things. I think you can add them to your DJ booth, with comments like you have been doing. This way it is easier for me to look at your submission list and choose which we will play first. Following that when any of them get played we can then add them to your DJ Playlist, plus add them here at The Sky Lounge entrance with a link to your area that says, if you want to hear more great songs from this DJ and author, head over to their booth :).
This way we can keep this area for featured songs that were played and for patrons submissions that do not have a DJ booth yet. So they have to submit it here. What do you think? If you think this idea is not good and you have a better one…let me know 🙂 Thanks
